Evaluation

The overarching goal for the HELLP program is the prevention of teenage pregnancy. HELLP understands that evaluation of its
effectiveness is critical to ensure its long-term sustainability.. As a result, it has allocated 15% of its budget to its own evaluation.
The design of the program is as follows:
HELLP will offer behavior education and skills training through the provision of fifteen (15) lessons for the at risk children of the
Gastonia, North Carolina metro area. The program will focus primarily on the at risk, and high school students (9th through 12th
grade level). The program is currenly being taught at Warlick High School with our  target on  young women.
HELLP will be a combined mentoring and class discussion style program held directly in
the community
and school settings. It will feature relationship skills training utilizing the "Peers & Pairs"
curriculum. The curriculum will also encompass modules from the Wait Training curriculum.
To reinforce class work on building successful relationships,  there will be lessons addressing c
ommunications,  how to handle
conflict and college prep
. These life skills lessons will provide information covering the relevant topics of abstinence, dating,
domestic violence prevention, financial planning and conflict resolution.
Our Approach
Objective
HELLP seeks to refocus at risk youth in the Gastonia, North Carolina metro area, south of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Gastonia, North Carolina is a major suburban city just south of Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a recipient of the many woes
and misfortunes in relation to crime, sexual dysfunction, cohabitation in relationships and lack of healthy relationship skills.

The HELLP project has partnered with the community of Gastonia to help make a difference.

HELLP is at program designed to train high school
and middle school students on the importance of making the right
choices. Its design is to emphasize abstinence and
how to handle conflict effectively. HELLP will strengthen the relationships
in the home and in our communities, by influencing the thought process that teens go through when making decisions
.
